NEW OFFICE AND HOME FOR CCR Last year I visited West Oaks Fellowship, and found them receptive to our ministry. Finally, I joined in November of last year. In January they graciously provided office space (with windows and bookcases)!
LOVE WON OUT-AUSTIN * FEBRUARY 22 FOCUS ON THE FAMILY brought LOVE WON OUT to Austin. There were over 1,100 in attendance. CCR had an exhibit table along with the other 4 Exodus ministries. 12 of our CCR friends came up to the conference from Houston. We handed out lots of literature, and I was able to minister to many hurting parents. FREEDOM FROM HOMOSEXUALITY Trinity Fellowship Church in southeast Houston hosted the FREEDOM FROM HOMOSEXUALITY seminar there May 24. This was our first opportunity to have it at an African-American church! I was the chief presenter ably assisted by CCR Team: Adrienne Godre, Dale Davis, Sharon, Kyle, and Anthony. Special guest Brenda Barbarino from HIS IMAGE of Cleveland, Ohio also gave us a hand during a lively question and answer session after lunch.
GROUP TALK The Barnabas group on Monday nights continues with 5-10 men. We are studying BREAKING FREE by Russell Willingham. It deals with sexual addiction in general. We have had some valuable discussions as well as fine-tuning the definitions of accountability and support, and the need for both.
EUROPE CONNECTIONS Last year CCR received a designated gift for a ministry to Venezuela, but I didn’t go because of political situation. This year my board approved using the funds to accept an invitation from friend pastor Hervé LePage to minister in his church in Béeziers, France. There is also a possibility to do the FREEDOM seminar in Barcelona, Spain! I will be gone September 3-23, so keep praying about God’s arranging the itinerary He desires! MEDIA MENTION Tuesday, April 8 I did an interview for local TBN station Channel 14 for DILE, the Spanish program for adolescents, which aired in 55 different Spanish speaking countries!
EXODUS ORLANDO JULY 21-26 This year’s national conference WE ARE THE CHURCH takes place at First Presbyterian Church in Orlando! This year we have 6 men attending, in addition to Dale and myself. Both Dale and I will be teaching this year. I will do one on countering gay apologetics. SUPREME COURT DECISION On June 26, 2003 the Supreme Court struck down individual state anti-sodomy laws. This sets a new precedent for the Federal government deciding morality, as well as an implication that homosexual sexual activity has equal status as heterosexual activity. Our society has really turned a corner with this decision, and is opening the door to further widespread acceptance of homosexuality. My job is harder than ever before, and will continue to be so in the future.
Please consider your financial gift to CCR through
