LIVING WATERS

God has been doing tremendous things through LIVING WATERS, which will be winding down at the end of June. Here are some thoughts from a participant "Thanks, for everything Michael, you changed my life. I know it sounds trite, but I really don't think I would be where I am (although not where I want to be) if you hadn't had the insight and wisdom that you shared with me. "

I have begun another weekly group for male strugglers called BARNABAS. Response is slowly building.

IN THE CLASSROOM

I was very pleased about the opportunity to be a guest speaker for the Encourager Academy Health class for seniors on March 14. They were a very attentive audience, and asked some good questions. On April 5 I was asked to give a devotional for the chapel service for the entire school. I spoke on "Name/blessings or curses ". It was also very well received.

My testimony will be included in a collection of testimonies by Reverend Dennis Walker form Austin! This past month we have been running an ad on the Back Pages of HOUSTON PRESS. It reads: TIRED OF BEING GAY? There is another way. Call 713 465 7045. Lots of hang-ups, a few vituperative messages, and a few conversations with the curious. We’ll se how God will use it. I will be sending some Spanish articles I wrote with Tim Wilkins as he represents Exodus at a conference Amsterdam 2000.

MINISTRY AT HOME

On May 5 I will be driving up to Dallas for the LOVE WON OUT conference, sponsored by Focus on the Family. Many of my Exodus colleagues will be teaching at this rally for teenagers on May 6. I will be there to represent CCR, hand out literature, and to be ready for whatever other ministry God may have in store for me. The other 4 Texas Exodus ministries will be there, so I also look forward to fellowship with them.

I will be teaching a course on FATHER GOD at my Church Wednesday evenings in June.

I teach HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE ARTISTIC COMMUNITY at Dance Ad Deum Dance and Mime Intensive June 5-10, 2000 in Conroe

June 12-15 I will be in Ft. Worth attending Kathy Koch's Learning Styles seminar as a participant! I look forward to some helpful insights that I may be able to utilize in other capacities.l

I will be busy with regional representative meetings, directors meetings, and meeting with the Latins at Exodus-North America conference/ San Diego July 23-29,2000.

I will be teaching HOMOSEXUALITY AND ARTISTIC COMMUNITY AND BREAKING DOWN THE WALLS: A LOOK AT MULTI-CULTURAL MINISTRY and possibly doing some translating at Exodus-Europe conference/ England August 27-September 1,2000

I give the keynote address at Exodus S. Central Regional conference/ San Antonio 10/21/2000.

Also, mark November 5 on your calendars. Marty McCall of FIRST CALL has agreed to do a fundraising concert for CCR at the Encourager that Saturday evening. This will be the first major fund raising event we have had since 1988!

MINISTRY ABROAD

I am excited about the opportunity that recently opened up for me to minister again with Andy Comiskey and his team as they do a conference September 14-16 in Caracas, Venezuela. The generosity of my last college roommate, Larry, made this possible. I will also enjoy spending time with him and his family while there! Exodus has also asked me to be liaison with Spanish speaking ministries here in US. We hope to see more established.

P.S. Please continue prayers for Adrienne’s recovery from surgery for a malignant tumor in her colon on April 11. The doctor is very pleased with success of operation, she is healing quickly, and we pray that chemotherapy may not even be necessary.
